Community

Advisory Committees provide valuable input, recommendations, and community perspective on district-wide initiatives, policies, programs, and services that impact students, families, schools, and the broader community. 

Members represent the District’s stakeholders and contribute invaluable expertise, insight, and service. All committee groups are governed by School Board Policy 1070 and their respective establishing policy, resolution, and bylaws.
 
Advisory Committee members serve annual terms, July 1 – June 30.

REQUIRED TRAINING: Prior to the second committee meeting following appointment, members are required to complete training on Sunshine Law, Public Records, Code of Ethics, and related committee responsibilities. School Accountability and Improvement

According to SBBC Policy 1403, each school has a School Advisory Council (SAC) to facilitate the development and monitor progress of the annual School Improvement Plan. Agendas and minutes reflect annual needs assessment, SIP monitoring, and allocation of Accountability Funds.
